Prayer for Families - Day 7

We thank God that we have reached day 7 of our 7 prayer and fasting for our families and for the nation of Iran. As we lift our voices to Him, may every Jericho wall fall down flat! We will meet on Zoom at 7:30 pm to pray together. Please fast as you have the strength. May God show us mercy and hear us as we pray, not just for our own families, but for the families around us and for the nation of Iran.

Bible Readings

“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And broke their chains in pieces. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He has broken the gates of bronze, And cut the bars of iron in two.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭107‬:‭13‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus.”

‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Let me make this clear: A single grain of wheat will never be more than a single grain of wheat unless it drops into the ground and dies. Because then it sprouts and produces a great harvest of wheat—all because one grain died. “The person who loves his life and pampers himself will miss true life! But the one who detaches his life from this world and abandons himself to me, will find true life and enjoy it forever! If you want to be my disciple, follow me and you will go where I am going. And if you truly follow me as my disciple, the Father will shower his favor upon your life. “Even though I am torn within, and my soul is in turmoil, I will not ask the Father to rescue me from this hour of trial. For I have come to fulfill my purpose —to offer myself to God. So, Father, bring glory to your name!” Then suddenly a booming voice was heard from the sky, “I have glorified my name! And I will glorify it through you again!””

‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭24‬-‭28‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.””

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭91‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

We thank God for Day 6 of this 7 day prayer and fasting for our families and for the nation of Iran. We will meet on Zoom every evening at 7:30 pm to pray together. Please fast as you have the strength. May God show us mercy and hear us as we pray, not just for our own families, but for the families around us and for the nation of Iran.

Bible Readings

“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

““Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace; Thereby good will come to you. Receive, please, instruction from His mouth, And lay up His words in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; You will remove iniquity far from your tents. Then you will lay your gold in the dust, And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks. Yes, the Almighty will be your gold And your precious silver; For then you will have your delight in the Almighty, And lift up your face to God. You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you, And you will pay your vows. You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways. When they cast you down, and you say, ‘Exaltation will come!’ Then He will save the humble person. He will even deliver one who is not innocent; Yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands.””

‭‭Job‬ ‭22‬:‭21‬-‭30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Prayer for Families - Day 5

We thank God for Day 5 of this 7 day prayer and fasting for our families and for the nation of Iran. We will meet on Zoom every evening at 7:30 pm to pray together. Please fast as you have the strength. May God show us mercy and hear us as we pray, not just for our own families, but for the families around us and for the nation of Iran.

Bible Readings

“Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” [Josh 1:5] So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, “The Lord is my Helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?” [Ps 27:1; 118:6]”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Psalm 35:1-28 ESV

1 Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me;

        fight against those who fight against me!

2 Take hold of shield and buckler

        and rise for my help!

3 Draw the spear and javelin

        against my pursuers!

    Say to my soul,

        “I am your salvation!”

4 Let them be put to shame and dishonor

        who seek after my life!

    Let them be turned back and disappointed

        who devise evil against me!

5 Let them be like chaff before the wind,

        with the angel of the LORD driving them away!

6 Let their way be dark and slippery,

        with the angel of the LORD pursuing them!

7 For without cause they hid their net for me;

        without cause they dug a pit for my life.

8 Let destruction come upon him when he does not know it!

    And let the net that he hid ensnare him;

        let him fall into it—to his destruction!

9 Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD,

        exulting in his salvation.

10 All my bones shall say,

        “O LORD, who is like you,

    delivering the poor

        from him who is too strong for him,

        the poor and needy from him who robs him?”

11 Malicious witnesses rise up;

        they ask me of things that I do not know.

12 They repay me evil for good;

        my soul is bereft.

13 But I, when they were sick—

        I wore sackcloth;

        I afflicted myself with fasting;

    I prayed with head bowed on my chest.

14     I went about as though I grieved for my friend or my brother;

    as one who laments his mother,

        I bowed down in mourning.

15 But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered;

        they gathered together against me;

    wretches whom I did not know

        tore at me without ceasing;

16 like profane mockers at a feast,

        they gnash at me with their teeth.

17 How long, O Lord, will you look on?

        Rescue me from their destruction,

        my precious life from the lions!

18 I will thank you in the great congregation;

        in the mighty throng I will praise you.

19 Let not those rejoice over me

        who are wrongfully my foes,

    and let not those wink the eye

        who hate me without cause.

20 For they do not speak peace,

        but against those who are quiet in the land

        they devise words of deceit.

21 They open wide their mouths against me;

        they say, “Aha, Aha!

        Our eyes have seen it!”

22 You have seen, O LORD; be not silent!

        O Lord, be not far from me!

23 Awake and rouse yourself for my vindication,

        for my cause, my God and my Lord!

24 Vindicate me, O LORD, my God,

        according to your righteousness,

        and let them not rejoice over me!

25 Let them not say in their hearts,

        “Aha, our heart’s desire!”

    Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.”

26 Let them be put to shame and disappointed altogether

        who rejoice at my calamity!

    Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor

        who magnify themselves against me!

27 Let those who delight in my righteousness

        shout for joy and be glad

        and say evermore,

    “Great is the LORD,

        who delights in the welfare of his servant!”

28 Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness

        and of your praise all the day long.

Prayer for Families - Day 4

We thank God for Day 4 of this 7 day prayer and fasting for our families and for the nation of Iran. We will meet on Zoom every evening at 7:30 pm to pray together. Please fast as you have the strength. May God show us mercy and hear us as we pray, not just for our own families, but for the families around us and for the nation of Iran.

Bible Reading

“Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of meeting. And it came to pass that everyone who sought the Lord went out to the tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp. So it was, whenever Moses went out to the tabernacle, that all the people rose, and each man stood at his tent door and watched Moses until he had gone into the tabernacle. And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses. All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door. So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.”

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭33‬:‭7‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Prayer Points

  • Let us pray that every family home would be a place of worship. That as we worship God, many others would also be inspired to know the God that we serve.

  • Let us pray that every member of our family would have a personal relationship with God, just as a man would speak to his friend.

  • Let us pray that just as Joshua stayed back when Moses left, even when we have passed away, our children will continue to follow God.

  • Let us pray that God would stand like a pillar of cloud outside the door of each family, to protect each member of our families. Let us pray that God would protect us from all sickness, distractions and any harm against us.

  • Let us pray that God would separate us and our children, far from the uncleanness of this world. That we would be ready and available for the special purpose that God has for each of us.

Prayer for Families - Day 3

Let us thank God for Day 3 of this 7 day prayer and fasting for our families and for the nation of Iran. We will meet on Zoom every evening at 7:30 pm to pray together. Please fast as you have the strength. May God help us and hear us as we pray for not just for our own families, but for the families around us and for the nation of Iran.

Today, the prayer for our families will be taken from Psalm 91. The below is the Passion Translation.

1 When you abide under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High.

2 He's the hope that holds me and the stronghold to shelter me, the only God for me, and my great confidence.

3 He will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy, and he will protect you from false accusation and any deadly curse.

4 His massive arms are wrapped around you, protecting you.

You can run under his covering of majesty and hide.

His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm.

5 You will never worry about an attack of demonic forces at night nor have to fear a spirit of darkness coming against you.

6 Don't fear a thing!

Whether by night or by day, demonic danger will not trouble you, nor will the powers of evil be launched against you.

7 Even in a time of disaster, with thousands and thousands being killed, you will remain unscathed and unharmed.

8 You will be a spectator as the wicked perish in judgment, for they will be paid back for what they have done!

9-10 When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High,

our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm.

How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us?

11 God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from all harm.

12 lf you walk into a trap, they'll be there for you and keep you from stumbling.

13 You'll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness, trampling every one of them beneath your feet!

14 For here is what the Lord has spoken to me:

"Because you loved me, delighted in me, and have been loyal to my name,

I will greatly protect you.

15 1 will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will feel my presence in your time of trouble.

I will deliver you and bring you honor.

16 I will satisfy you with a full life and with all that I do for you.

For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!"

Prayer for Families - Day 2

Over this seven day period, we will be praying and fasting for our families and for the nation of Iran. We will meet on Zoom every evening at 7:30 pm to pray together. Please fast as you have the strength. May God help us and hear us as we pray for not just for our own families, but for the families around us and for the nation of Iran.

Bible reading: Psalm 103

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  • With all that is within us, let us thank God who has forgiven us all our iniquities and healed all our diseases. That He has rescued us from destruction and freed us from a life of sin.

  • Let us take an opportunity to confess any sin and to ask God for mercy.

  • Thanksgiving that God has crowned us with His faithful love and tender mercy. As a father pities his children, so God has pitied those who fear Him.

And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.””

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24‬:‭15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

  • Let us pray that every member of our family would know the Lord and serve Him.

“Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.””

‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ (emphasis added)

  • Let us pray that every member of our family would know and obey the voice of Jesus our Good Shepherd. They will not hear the voice of strangers.

Praying for Iran

Praying for Iran

“I will shatter Elam before their foes, before those who want to kill them; I will bring disaster on them, even my fierce anger, declares the Lord. “I will pursue them with the sword until I have made an end of them. I will set my throne in Elam and destroy her king and officials, “declares the Lord.  “Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam in days to come, “declares the Lord.”

Jeremiah 49:37-39

Aim

To gather people from around the world to pray to lift the veil of darkness over Iran.

Date & Planning

  • 7 days of fasting and praying. There are no specific instructions for the fast, but please fast and pray for 7 days.

  • For six days gather with your group and pray once a day together while putting your hands on the map of Iran. You can google the map of Iran with its 7 neighbouring countries and print a big one.

  • On the 7th day, pray seven times together loudly and declare New Persia (Iran) under the kingdom of Jesus. Pray loud and declare that the Lord has liberated Iran from darkness and the control of Satan and has given us a New Persia under Yeshua’s kingdom.

Prayer Points

While we can pray for many things regarding Iran, I want you to please focus your prayers on breaking the curse of darkness of Islam over the country and over the Iranian people.  Iranians for many years worshiped a god of hate, punishment, and vengeance. We need to pray for their liberation from:

  • slavery to the regime

  • darkness

  • sins

  • blindness

  • fear

  • worshiping false gods

  • witchcraft

  • curse

  • sorrow & depression

  • hopelessness

  • pray for God’s continues revival in Iran

What’s Next

There will be a webinar on May 17 with all of Christians who are going to join us to pray together on a Zoom meeting, to wrap what we have started. The video below introduces this prayer focus for Iran. God bless as you join with us.
